East Zagori

Unlike Central or West Zagori, which are fairly close to each other, East Zagori is some 50 kilometers from Central Zagori, which means traveling there and back will waste precious time. A visit to East Zagori is worth a local hotel location; in general, distances between locations in East Zagori are quite large. The two main villages of Tsepelovo and Vovousa are some 56 kilometers away on mountain roads that take about 2 hours each way to travel. One of the more unique nature spots in East Zagori, in addition to those two villages, is the trek to the Iliochori waterfall. It’s a medium level trek and highly recommended. Note that the East Zagori region receives far less tourists than the central and western areas so if it’s authentic village life you want to lend into, definitely spend some time in East Zagori.
